The Bedard Watch continues... Blackhawks inch closer
May 8th, 2023 will be a date circled on many general managers' calendars throughout the NHL. That is the day that the 2023 NHL draft lottery will occur and everybody will learn which team will acquire the rights to draft the superstar in the making of Connor Bedard.
Bedard is having a sensational season with the Regina Pats as he continues his quest on piling up the points and the stats across the board that would make any general manager sell his team to get him.
The Chicago Blackhawks lost their game tonight against the Colorado Avalanche 5 to nothing and have given themselves a better chance of increasing their odds of landing the first overall pick.
It seems that this is a Bedard or bust season for the Blackhawks as they have essentially sold off as much talent as possible and acquired as many draft picks as they can as they begin the new rebuilding phase for the team.
Landing a player of this calibre will certainly ignite the fan base and bring back some sense of normalcy for the Blackhawks.
The Blackhawks are on the road and will play the Washington Capitals on Thursday, March 23rd. Game time will be at 7:00 PM eastern.
