Afterward, Caleb signed a $775K contract with the Carolina Hurricanes, which is the league minimum.
Seth was not given the chance to weigh in on Kyle Davidson's trade or waiver of Caleb, however.
Given that he's a veteran and there to mentor and anchor the team, it seems disrespectful to treat him this way. In light of how the deal went down, one has to wonder if Seth Jones feels like his time in Chicago is up given the way the deal was executed.
One wonders if Jones will find a new home sooner or later ..
Seth Jones on Blackhawks not re-signing Caleb:
"[We] had some good chemistry last year, and Chicago just wanted to go a different way... After the fact, Kyle called me, but not before. But I'm trying to control what I can control."
