Patrick Kane is heading into this years NHL trade deadline as the top acquisition to acquire and many teams have shown interest.
One team in particular stands out the most and that is the New York Rangers, but why do they stand out? The Rangers have a strong group of forwards, and the Rangers organization prioritizes their happiness and makes sure they all stay together. On the other hand, Patrick Kane's best friend Artemi Panarin who was traded away by the Blackhawks management years ago, is on the Rangers himself.
Things quickly went down the drain just the other day whenever the New York Rangers acquired Vladimir Tarasenko from the St.Louis Blues in a blockbuster trade, meaning the Rangers no longer have cap space to acquire Kane, who was clearly hoping to head there.
Kane made it quite clear in his interview, take a look at his recent comments below:
Patrick Kane on the Rangers' Tarasenko deal:
"It's not like the happiest I've been to hear about a trade. ... If things are going to happen, that was a team I was definitely looking at. It seems like they kind of filled their void and went ahead and made a deal."
Patrick Kane said he and Pat Brisson haven't outright told Kyle Davidson what he wants:
"Obviously you want to do right by the franchise, and the organization here has been amazing to me and given me so much. So you definitely want what's best for both sides."
This is a big road block in Kane leaving Chicago, which is unfortunate for him, but good for Blackhawks fans.
