The Vegas Golden Knights gave Patrick a chance to become what many expected, which was a 2-way, do-it-all center who would produce points like a 2nd overall pick.
In Vegas, however, things did not quite work out.
Chicago, however, is in a great position to acquire unproven talent and revitalize their careers. Under Luke Richardson, Patrick could arguably do that here on a cheap prove-it contract.
This past season the injury bug bit him, to the point where he only played 25 NHL games and put up 7 points on the season.
Could he like Max Domi, experience a career revival in Chicago? It might be worth a shot.
