Jonathan Toews is Not Retiring But is Leaving Chicago: His Plan Has Been Revealed
Chicago Blackhawks fans were left reeling when the news broke that Jonathan Toews would be leaving the organization after this season, with the last game against the Philadelphia Flyers tonight. The announcement, however, came with a small silver lining for fans, as TSN's Pierre LeBrun reported that Toews will not be retiring just yet.
Instead, the plan is for Toews to take some time after the season and see how he feels. LeBrun speculated that if a Cup contender comes calling on July 1, it could pique Toews' interest in continuing his career. However, it remains to be seen if Toews will decide to pack it in after what has already been a terrific career. But he stated he is leaving the organization, NOT retiring.
Regardless of what the future holds for Toews, Blackhawks fans are sure to be grateful for the time he spent with the organization, and will undoubtedly be cheering him on in his next endeavor.
