With the NHL Draft days away Free Agent Frenzy will becoming close after.
One team that's been watching the rumour scene closely till then is the Calgary Flames. The Flames Management also is in a tough spot. After giving Flames forward and pending unrestricted free agent Johnny Gaudreau a very nice offer but Johnny Hockey has yet to answer either way.
Much of the hockey media believe Gaudreau will go to free agency and believes he could possibly get more money and too be fair after putting up 115 last season he probably could.
However Flames Reporter Salim Valji doesn't believe losing Gaudreau will hurt the Flames much. Valji would say,
"If Johnny Gaudreau walks I don't think it's the end of the world. I don't think the Flames will necessarily take a step back like some people might think."
- Salim Valji TSN
Gaudreau is 28 and has played his entire career for the Flames who drafted him in the 4th round 104th overall in the 2011 NHL draft. In 602 games with the Flames Johnny Hockey has 210 goals and 399 assists with a plus 85 rating.
