Hawks prospect shows much promise With Flint Firebirds.
As the Blackhawks continued to close out their existing core and continue to purge the team, their prospects pool continues to build and show tremendous promise. In 2023 the Hawks will be in a great position to potentially land a superstar in the making of Connor Bedard.
Hawks fans and the rest of the NHL will find out who will get his rights on May 8th.
In the meantime, there's another excellent prospect being talked about in the Hawks prospect pool. Flint Thunderbirds forward Gavin Hayes is showing why the Blackhawks are looking forward to his services in the coming years.
The 18-year-old left winger was drafted by the Blackhawks in 2022, in the third round 66 pick overall. Currently standing at 6 foot 177 pounds, Hayes has shown his scoring touch with the Firebirds.
He has played 66 games, scored 41 goals, with 40 assists for 81 points and holds a plus-minus of plus 11. The scouting book is out saying that he would be a great playmaker with quick hands and great open-ice handling.
This will bode well for the Blackhawks as they intend to continue to change their entire lineup to this new generation of forwards and talent.
