The Chicago Blackhawks have signed forward Buddy Robinson to a one-year, two-way deal worth $750,000 annually.
The 30-year old forward split the 2021-22 season between the Anaheim Ducks and the San Diego Gulls, scoring one goal and five assists in 32 games for the Ducks. In 28 games for the Gulls, Robinson put up four goals and nine assists.
For his NHL career, the big forward (6'6", 232 lb) has three goals and six assists in 53 games.
In the AHL, Robinson has played 490 career games, scoring 259 points, 120 goals and 139 assists. He's also racked up 461 penalty minutes in the minors. His best season was in 2017-18 as a member of the Manitoba Moose with 53 points (25 G, 28 A).
Robinson adds some size and grit to the Blackhawks roster and the team will most likely send him down to the AHL, adding some extra depth for the Rockford IceHogs. Of course given the state of the Hawks franchise, he could get lots of time in Chicago.
