Former Chicago Blackhawks Defenseman Signs With Team In Sweden

There is a lot of exciting news surrounding the Chicago Blackhawks right now, but let's not let that take away from the little things.

Jakub Galvas, former Blackhawk defenseman, has signed with Malmö in Sweden. He was set to be an RFA in the 2023 summer.

In the past couple seasons, Jakub Galvas, has fallen down the Chicago Blackhawks' defensive radar and depth chart. Which is very unfortunate, as things were looking up for him in 2021.

Jakub Galvas, will now play for the Malmö Redhawks in Sweden, he represented the Rockford IceHogs, more noticeable throughout the past two seasons in the AHL. He was drafted in 2017 by Chicago, in the 5th round, at pick 26th (150th overall.

The IF Malmö Redhawks is a Swedish professional ice hockey team based in Malmö which plays in the SHL, with Malmö Arena as the venue for home games. The history of the team dates back to 1947 as the ice hockey division of the now exclusively football club Malmö FF. Last season, the team had a losing record. With 20 wins and 25 loses, tying a team worst 61 points in 52 games.
