Could the Hawks Sign this Veteran?
The Blackhawks are tanking this season. That's for sure. So, why not bring the young guns up and give them a shot, and have the veterans guide them.
The Toronto Maple Leafs released 1,019 game veteran Wayne Simmonds. Wayne Simmons was a Philadelphia Flyer for a majority of his career.
Simmonds's peak was the last 5 seasons with the Flyers as his lowest point season during that time period was 46, his highest point season being 60 points. In the last season, Wayne only played 38 games with the Leafs, scoring 7 goals and having 2 assists, having 9 points on the season.
He may not be amusing points wise but could offer a lot of guidance to the young players coming in, with his veteran experience. The young guns may not be playing now, but after the Trade Deadline, Chicago may have no choice but to call some of the young players up.
