Blackhawks reveal Korchinski's returned

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Kevin Korchinski returned to the team on Tuesday morning after being away for nearly two weeks to attend to a family matter. His father, Larry, passed away last week, leading the entire team to fly to Saskatoon for the funeral.

Korchinski's unexpected appearance during the morning skate lifted the spirits of everyone in the locker room.

"It was a big uplifting thing to see him," said Tyler Johnson. "He's family, our brother. We missed him. It's been extremely hard, but for him to be back, I think everyone got excited. Just to see him on the ice with a smile means the world to us."

Korchinski appeared to be in good spirits, sharing smiles and interactions with teammates during the morning skate.

"It's awesome to have him here," said Connor Bedard. "Obviously, it's been tough for him and his family. He's part of our family, one of our brothers. I think it's going to be good for him being back in the team environment. Really happy to have him back."
