On an Anaheim Ducks Power Play, just over 3 minutes into the second period, Colin Blackwell was shoved down by Kevin Shattenkirk. He was able to get up, but was clearly injured as he skated over to the bench. He went down the tunnel, but came back and sat on the bench for a while, before retreating back into the locker room with about 12 minutes left in the period. Blackwell did not appear on the bench for the 3rd period, and it was reported that he'd be out for the rest of the game.

Afterwards, Coach Richardson clarified that the 29 year old had pulled a groin muscle and would be out for «a while.»

Blackwell had only played 5:52 before his injury. Currently, he has 10 points (2G, 8A) in his 53 games, this season. Without Colin out, if Kurashev hasn't recovered from the illness that kept him out of last night's game by Tuesday, the Blackhawks will have to call someone up.
