A new hockey season is upon us and with it a cautionary tale go broadcasters alike. During the opening night of the regular season, in a game between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Los Angeles Kings, an unthinkable event almost happened.
Rinkside reporter Lea Hextall almost got sliced by an arrant stick while between the benches. Hextall has experience between the benches, having done it for over a season now.
Hextall was able to hand the stick back to the player without anything serious happening. She has already been trending throughout the night as people have varying opinions on how she is as a reporter.
This just goes to show that being between the benches during a hockey game can be a dangerous task. Thankfully, Hextall was okay, but this will likely follow her for some time.
