The Blackhawks are gearing up to face the Montreal Canadiens, and to make room for Kevin Korchinski and Jarred Tinordi in the lineup, some last-minute roster moves went down.

They sent defensemen Wyatt Kaiser and Filip Roos to the Rockford IceHogs, bringing the active roster down to 22 players. Alex Vlasic, who hasn't played since the game in Seattle on Dec. 14, is still in the mix.

This move gives the Blackhawks flexibility during the holiday roster freeze period to send Kaiser and Roos back to Rockford.

It's all about optimizing the lineup for a competitive game against the Canadiens. Let's see how the strategy plays out on the home ice.
