Oddly enough, an opportunity may have just popped up for the Blackhawks just over twelve hours later..
The Detroit Red Wings made a huge announcement today that they'll be moving on from their future in net.
Elliotte Friedman has reported that the Detroit Red Wings have waived goaltender Alex Nedelijovik, and he has been placed on waivers.
Nedeljikovic is a non-risk high-reward opportunity for any other NHL team to take, at 27-years of age he sure hasn't had his best season posting a 2-4-2 record, but he was once the Hurricanes' future between the pipes as well as the Detroit Red Wings, he is on a 6-million dollar deal that may scare teams away, but for rebuilding teams interested in young players this should slide right into their rebuild plans... especially since the Blackhawks have a 35-year old Alex Stalock in goal who is set to retire shortly.
Teams will have until 2PM tomorrow to act fast.
