BREAKING: Patrick Kane May Be Done For The Year
The player that is most anticipated to be traded at this year's NHL trade deadline is Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks, who is certain to go down as one of the greatest skaters in history throughout the Hawks organization.
This season, which was supposed to be his final one in Chicago, Patrick Kane will attempt to smash even more team records. But what if a recent rumour revealed that Kane will likely wear a Blackhawks uniform for an extended period of time, beyond this season?
The Chicago Blackhawks superstar has long been considered one of the top targets for trades ahead of the deadline, but according to The Athletic's Arthur Staple, this may not be the case due to a concerning issue.
Many have noted that Kane does not look like himself, and the stats prove it as well.
There is a genuine concern across the league that Kane needs hip surgery, which would lower his market value.
If that is the case, he would likely miss the beginning of the upcoming season, which might reduce his value in the market. He could decide to play through the injury instead and wait until the summer to have the surgery.
Given this, it's possible that Kane may elect to have the operation soon, which would possibly remove him from the trade market, meaning he would stay in Chicago.
First and foremost, Patrick Kane must act on his own best interests by having this operation done correctly and by giving himself the time he needs to heal.
The Chicago Blackhawks, who are in the midst of a rebuild and don't "need" to win, will find this to be quite beneficial. They can simply put Patrick Kane on the injury reserve list for the remainder of the upcoming season if necessary, allowing him to completely recover.
I'm hoping Kane takes the right decision to ensure a speedy recovery!
