Meanwhile,
Jordan Binnington has 5 more years at $6 million, so if the Blues do make Husso an offer, it would still probably only be as a Number 2, due to Binnington's contract. But ff this performance, and those of the last few weeks, are any indication, I'm fairly certain multiple teams will be after the young Fin for their Number 1.
Don't get me wrong, Jordan Binnington isn't done by any means. But right now, Husso has the «it» that the Blues need for this playoff series, just like Binny had it in 2019.
But that team isn't who's playing, now. For one,
Alex Pietrangelo and
David Perron have essentially switched places, in that Perron was playing for Vegas, while Pietrangelo scored the series winning goal. Tonight, the former Blues Captain isn't even in the playoffs, while David Perron just became the 14th Blue to score a hat trick in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. And since he scored the first of the 4 Blues goals, he also got the GWG. Basically, it was the Perron and Husso show, with a special appearance by Captain Ryan O'Reilly.
