Alexis Lafrenier heading to Chicago?
There has been a lot of talk about Alexi Lafreniere potentially being traded, with several teams mentioned as possible destinations.
Among the most frequently mentioned were the Montreal Canadiens and Vancouver Canucks, the latter due in part to Lafreniere's former agent Emile Castonguay now working as an assistant general manager for the team.
It's been suggested that Lafreniere hasn't quite lived up to the expectations the Rangers had for their first-round pick.
As a result, there has been speculation that he could end up on a rebuilding team with the cap space to take on reclamation projects and players with potential. One such team is the Blackhawks.
If Lafreniere were to end up in Chicago, he could form a formidable line with fellow prospect Connor Bedard.
To make a hypothetical trade possible, the Blackhawks could potentially offer a 2024 first-round pick from Tampa Bay and Lukas Reichel as part of the deal.
