With Adam Johnson's loss, teams will have to confront a harsh reality: they must protect their players' necks from the possibility of being cut.
One NHL organization has heeded the call early, as many of the Boston Bruins' AHL team, the Providence Bruins, have worn neck protection on the ice since then.

This comes after former NHL player Adam Johnson died following a freak accident in an EIHL game
In the news, it appears the NHLPA is working to secure standard equipment for players in the next contract if it isn't already there.
