A Fleury Trade Will Happen If Teams Can Make The Salary Cap Work- Elliot Friedman
Elliot Friedman was on the pre game NHL insider segment yesterday, and he has made some bold statements regarding Fleury's future in Chicago.
«Toronto and Colorado are likely the teams choice of Marc Andre Fleury. A Fleury trade will happen if teams can make the salary cap work».
This is not greatest news for the Blackhawks nation, but let's take a look at the positives.
What could Chicago receive for Marc Andre Fleury? NHL insider Pierre LeBrun says the asking price for Fleury is a 1st round pick (or 1st round caliber prospect) and a mid round pick.
Possibilities From Toronto:
Topi Niemelä- Right Defenceman ranked #1 D in the 2020 World Juniors tournament. Niemela has broken out in the Liiga, the top league in Finland, being the highest scoring defenceman at just 19 years old. He would play a huge role in the Blackhawks approach of a rebuild within the next couple of seasons. Draft pick/picks included as well.
Possibilities from Colorado:
Alex Newhook- Center/Left Wing selected 16th overall in the 2019 draft, and has been mentioned in trade talks around the NHL. Posting up a impressive 3 goals and 6 points in 6 games with Canada at the World Junior championship. Draft pick/picks included as well.
