Former Chicago Blackhawks forward Dominic James has been put on injured reserve by the Tampa Bay Lightning, halting what was a strong last few games.
Former Chicago Blackhawks draft pick Dominic James never played in a Chicago sweater and instead signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning, and he had just started to pile up some points before getting hurt.
The Lightning have announced that James has been placed on injured reserve after he scored four points (1G, 3A) in his last two games.
Per Pro Hockey Rumors, this injury will
be hard for him because he was just getting into his groove on the ice.
"The injury is particularly tough timing as he was beginning to find his groove. After going without a point through his first seven games, James had a three-point effort, including his first NHL goal, in their 6-3 win over the Golden Knights on Nov. 6. He followed that up with an assist over the weekend before sustaining his injury. His last two showings leave him with a 1-3-4 scoring line through his first nine NHL games, averaging 12:46 of ice time per contest and going 46.4% on faceoffs."
Dominic James Was A Former Chicago Blackhawks Draft Pick
James was taken by the Blackhawks with the 173rd overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft after he played four years in the United States Hockey League with the Lincoln Stars and later played for Minnesota Duluth University.
He instead signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning this past September.
Even though he went pointless in his first eight NHL games, he would soon go on a multi-game point streak that was halted because of his injury.
