Sam Bennett has just selected one team to sign with in free agency after Florida's Stanley Cup run

All eyes are on the Toronto Maple Leafs in their free agents, with John Tavares and Mitch Marner being the biggest names on the free agent market.

With Toronto-area-born Sam Bennett being a free agent, and growing up playing hockey for the Toronto Marlboros, reports have surfaced of the gritty forward contemplating a signing with the Maple Leafs, to the point where the Panthers are 'nervous' about Bennett's free agency decision: per NHL insider.

With Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals approaching and likely being his main focus, a reported decision was made on behalf of Bennett and his camp, according to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period.

Bennett's one organization of preference to sign with in free agency is the Florida Panthers.

With no doubt is that a wrong decision for Bennett, even if his Panthers group can't pull off another Cup win this season, the aging forward has posted up career high seasons in his past four years as a top-six member of the Panthers.

With his decision to stay with the Florida Panthers, the organization is expected to be forced to cough up nearly twice as much as his current deal, $4.425 million.
