Tragic News Strikes Longtime Beloved Member of The Hockey Community

A longtime hockey analyst is in a life or death situation amidst a battle a debilitating disease
Mike Brophy, a well-known sports writer and analyst within the hockey community is now in need of an organ donor to beat a serious disease.
Brophy spent a whopping seventeen years with The Hockey News as a lead writer, and also an analyst with CBC News and Sportsnet.
20 years ago, Brophy has been diagnosed with IGA Nephritis, and since he has handled through a new lifestyle and diet, a feeling of assurance after being diagnosed with the deadly disease
Unfortunately, as of late, Brophy's kidney has inflamed and has only gotten worse over time. Due to the inflamation, it interferes with his ability to filter waste, now forcing him to find a kidney donor.
"I don't need to tell you what a good man 'Broph' is if you already know him. If you don't, trust me on this. He's 67 years old and in otherwise great health, and even though he's facing this head-on with courage, he wants to see his grandkids do grandkid things like go off to university and get married."
Said The Hockey News"I asked them what a kidney transplant gets me and they told me my life would pretty much return to the way it was before I was sick."
Said BrophyWhile Brophy has type A blood, he is incompatible with family members who have stepped up, and were willing to donate their kidney.
