The Chicago Blackhawks' general manager, Kyle Davidson, and the front office are set to part ways with several players within the organization this offseason, and it's surprising.

The Blackhawks will undoubtedly undergo an eventful offseason, as the organization has an immense amount of decisions to make regarding their young re-building team.
To start things off, the organization will need to decide who they will select with their No. 3 pick, which will ultimately determine whether or not new head coach, Jeff Blashill, views Connor Bedard as a centre or a winger, and this alone can extensively change the atmosphere of the team.
Additionally, with free agency around the corner, GM Kyle Davidson, will need to dissect valuable acquisitions on the trade market.
However, amidst all of Chicago's roster planning, the organization is also set to part ways with several players within the roster.

Let's take a look.
As per Scott Powers of The Athletic, the Chicago Blackhawks are unlikely to sign Victor Soderstrom this offseason.
«The Blackhawks aren't expected to sign defenseman Victor Söderström, whose rights they acquired from the Utah Mammoth at the trade deadline in March,» Powers wrote. The Blackhawks were unsure whether they'd be able to sign Söderström, but they thought it was worth exploring as part of the multi-player trade.»

Scott Powers additional revealed that the Blackhawks gave up its draft rights to several players, and as anticipated, Dominic James will not sign a deal with Chicago.
«The Blackhawks officially relinquished their draft rights to Alex Pharand (fourth round, 2023), Marcel Marcel (fifth round, 2023), Milton Oscarson (sixth round, 2023) and Victor Stjernborg (fourth round, 2021) because they weren't signed before the deadline on June 1,» Powers wrote. «Marcel has been on an AHL contract the past two seasons and could return to the Rockford IceHogs again next season.»

He continued:
«It also still sounds like Dominic James (sixth round, 2022) will not sign a contract with the Blackhawks and will become an unrestricted free agent on Aug. 15.»

With all being said, the Chicago Blackhawks are expected to depart with several players this offseason, and this just goes to prove that the organization will most likely endure a very busy summer.
