These former Chicago Blackhawks players have a way of finding themselves in advantageous situations, as six players, including Gustav Forsling, Seth Jones, and Corey Perry, are still playing hockey in May.

While the Chicago Blackhawks haven't made the postseason since the 2020 bubble season, some of your favorites persist into May.
Six former Blackhawks who are still suiting up to play hockey, among the Florida Panthers, Edmonton Oilers, and Dallas Stars.
With the Western and Eastern Conference Finals approaching, we have to consider that we may see one of these players holding a Stanley Cup. For some, it could be the first time, and for others, a lucky 2nd.

Seth Jones

Seth Jones was dealt to the Florida Panthers earlier this year after he made a public push to be traded. The Blackhawks got their future #1 goalie in Spencer Knight in the deal, and now Jones gets to hunt a cup.
He was one of the Panthers' best players down the stretch in Game 7, and has quickly found a new home with former Blue Jackets teammate Sergei Bobrovsky in Florida.

Gustav Forsling

Forsling is an unknown who raised himself up in the Panthers system to become a defensive stalwart in the lineup. The Carolina Hurricanes, along with the Blackhawks, are likely kicking themselves for getting rid of this Stanley Cup winner.
While Taylor Hall never made it public that he'd want to be traded, after the Winter Classic, something happened, and he was sent to Carolina. While his game fits Rod Brind'Amour's system well, he's not the Hart Trophy winner we've seen before, but he's elevated his game once again.
Blackwell is a fourth-liner for the Stars, who finds ways to make an impact. Similar to the way he played in Chicago. Blackwell plays with heart and grit, and it's given him and game-winning goal in overtime, something that sets him apart from some NHLers. The Stars will have to utilize him to stay ahead of the speedy Oilers.

Mattias Janmark

Janmark only spent a season with the Blackhawks, in 2020-2021, before he was shipped off to Vegas. Janmark made his name as a bottom-six forward, and continues to play that role in Edmonton. This could be his second shot at a Stanley Cup during his NHL career.
Perry is a future Hall of Famer who went through an unfortunate situation in 2023-2024, which forced him off the team. Afterwards, he'd sign with the Edmonton Oilers, as teams value the kind of spark he gives a lineup on the ice.
If he and the Oilers make it to the finals, this will be his fifth trip in the last six years (with four different teams!), an astounding feat. His ability to play up and down the lineup and as an agitator makes him an excellent fit for the Oilers.
Perry has secured one Stanley Cup in 2007. Could this be the year where he wins one again?
