GM Kyle Davidson and the Chicago Blackhawks are busy bees, preparing for the 2025 NHL Draft, but an underlying need to address draft rights is one we should be concerned with.

The Chicago Blackhawks are undergoing a transformation as the rebuild takes hold.
The players who are going to make an impact in the organization have found themselves in a Blackhawks uniform.
However, there are a handful of picks out of the 30 made in the last three years that Kyle Davidson will have to attend to.
The Blackhawks have lost four draft selections from their pipeline if they are not signed by midnight tonight.
According to our reliable Capfriendly replacement, PuckPedia, the team is set to lose Marcel Marcel, Alex Pharand, Victor Stjernborg, and Milton Oscarson's rights if they don't sign them soon (i.e., Today, June 1st).

Deadline To Sign Today

The Blackhawks drafted Alex Pharand in the fourth round of the 2023 NHL draft. The Sudbury Wolves forward has played in the OHL this season and scored 59 points in 65 games.
We're not sure the reason why Kyle Davidson has shied away from the prospect.
Marcel Marcel, aged 21, was also a 2023 selection by the Blackhawks and has played in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs. He's put up a meager 13 points in 41 games in Rockford. Perhaps his star is waning in Davidson's eyes?
Victor Stjernborg, 22, was a fourth-round pick in 2021 and plays in the SHL currently. He's had an unproductive year, scoring only nine points in 37 games.
While Oscarson, a late 6th-round draft pick, has also had trouble picking up the pace, scoring only 11 points in the SHL this season.
The deadline to offer any of these players mentioned above a new contract is today.
If any of them have earned another deal with the Hawks, it seems like Alex Pharand might be the best choice out of the four.
However, the pipeline is flush enough that losing four prospects wouldn't hurt the long-term future of the organization.
Especially when you have players like Nick Lardis still in the pipeline.
