Veteran forward Pat Maroon has set the stage for what might be his last season by signing a one-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.

This deal marks his 14th season in the league. At 36 years old, Pat Maroon is not just planning to play another year; he's thinking this could be his goodbye.

In a talk with Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times, Maroon hinted that he's only looking at the season ahead and hasn't decided if he'll retire afterwards.

Last season, Maroon played for Minnesota and then Boston, where an injury limited him to just two games after being traded.

Joining the Blackhawks, Maroon brings leadership and a ton of playoff experience, including three Stanley Cup wins.

For a team like Chicago, having Maroon around will be great for younger players trying to make their mark.

The upcoming season seems like it could be Maroon's last, his time with the Blackhawks might be his last run in the NHL.

Let's make it a good one!
