The Chicago Blackhawks announced that they've officially cut four players from their training camp and sent them to the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL.
It's that time of the year again.
As we get closer to the end of the preseason and the start of the regular calendar, teams are once again gearing up for the season by making the final modifications to their rosters, crushing many prospects' hopes at the same time.
Chicago Blackhawks Cut Four Players From Training Camp
On Sunday morning, the Blackhawks announced that they've trimmed their roster to 38 players after cutting four players from their training camp.
Cates, Hayes, and Misiak, three forwards, all took part in last night's preseason game against the Blues.
Hayes notably scored the game-tying goal halfway through the third period, capitalizing on a great play from
Dominic Toninato.
The fourth player, goalie Stanislav Berezhnoy, didn't get a chance to play for the Hawks in the preseason, but did show what he was capable of in the prospect showdown earlier this month.
Berezhnoy, like the other three players, should have an important role with the IceHogs next season.
It'll be interesting to see if one of them eventually gets a chance to play for the Blackhawks at some point this season.
