Former Chicago Blackhawks Captain Jonathan Toews could find himself a new home with multiple NHL teams, and one of those NHL Insider Darren Dreger lists is his hometown Winnipeg Jets.
Former
Blackhawks Captain Jonathan Toews isn't hanging up the skates just yet. Nearly two years after stepping away to manage his chronic illness, he's begun to skate again.
It was reported this week that he informed his Agent Pat Brisson, he's 100% committed to returning to
NHL ice.
We'll get an idea of who is seriously interested in acquiring the three-time Stanley Cup champion in July.
But with the news of a legitimate return, there are already suitors, one of which we should all expect.
The Winnipeg Jets are one, a hometown team. He could slot in immediately on a playoff-contending roster if he decides to join.
Though it is speculated that there will be more than just the Jets vying for his service, as veterans like Toews are difficult to find, considering he's won three-Stanley Cups.
Someone like
Corey Perry has won one Stanley Cup and has still found his career viable into his late 30s.
Though you have to think the teams who will be bidding for his talents will have GMs who collect veterans like infinity stones.
It makes us ponder why not the New York Rangers, Colorado Avalanche, Detroit Red Wings, and Edmonton Oilers, as other teams who could put out an offer for the 1,000+ game NHL veteran?
July should prove to be exciting, as the Toews Sweepstakes will be heating up soon.
