The Chicago Blackhawks may have just found their new and improved head coach to replace their interim head coach, Anders Sorensen, and it's unexpected.

The Blackhawks' fan-base and NHL reporters have speculated that the organization is set to part ways with their current interim head coach, Anders Sorensen, who was promoted back in December 2024, when Chicago fired their former head coach Luke Richardson.
Sorensen's promotion may have unfortunately been the wrong call for the Chicago Blackhawks, due to the fact he had no experience within the National Hockey League, and that was evidently noted throughout his time leading the organization.
However, new insight has suggested the Blackhawks may have just found a new head coach candidate that can offer Chicago more than the team could ask for.

Chicago Blackhawks new and improved head coach candidate: Dave Hakstol

Although there may be plenty of doubters regarding Hakstol's candidacy, due to how his tenures as head coach for the Philadelphia Flyers and Seattle Kranken ended, he has enough of a resume to be an interesting candidate to replace the Chicago Blackhawks' Anders Sorensen.
Hakstol spent 11 years as the head coach in North Dakota, where he coached several future NHL stars, including the one and only, Jonathan Toews.
His ability to develope players at the NCAA level was one of the reasons he received an offer from the Flyers before the 2015/16 NHL season.
This may just be the kind of individual the Chicago Blackhawks are seeking, especially due to general manager, Kyle Davidson, admitting he is in search of a new head coach who has worked with younger players and is knowledged enough to bring them to new extremes.
With the Chicago Blackhawks being a fairly young team in dire need for a massive re-build, an experienced coach with knowledge on younger player's may just be what this Original Six organization is in need of.
Do you think the Chicago Blackhawks will acquire Dave Hakstol to replace interim head coach Anders Sorensen?
Although it is uncertain, this offseason will undoubtedly be filled with unexpected moves.
