Mysterious Chicago Blackhawk Player Practicing With The Montreal Canadiens Has Been Identified

The Chicago Blackhawks' prospects are brushing up their game during the postseason. One prospect has found himself in odd territory, in Montreal Canadiens country.

While he is an original-six team prospect, Greene (Blackhawks) was seen on the ice practicing with the KHL rookie of the year, Ivan Demidov (Canadiens).

You have to ponder what is there to gain from flying all the way to Montreal to train with one of Montreal's best hockey players?

Greene recently turned pro at the end of the 2024-2025 season and would suit up for two NHL games this year.

He was originally a 2nd-round draft pick (57th overall) in the 2022 NHL Draft, which featured a star-studded class that included Frank Nazar, Kevin Korchinski, and Sam Rinzel.

The 6'1", 174-pound forward seems like a fish out of water practicing with the Canadiens' top prospect, and on their home ice.

So, what exactly is he doing all the way out there?

Apparently, Ryan Greene has connections to GM Kent Hughes of the Montreal Canadiens, as he's romantically intertwined with his daughter, Morgan.

He's also connected to the top defensive rookie in the NHL, Lane Hutson, who has put on a show this season, with the playmaking abilities he has, scoring 66 points (6 goals, 60 assists). Both played together at Boston University.

Greene was signed by the Blackhawks to a three-year ELC with a $950K cap hit.
