Stan Bowman has reunited with former Chicago Blackhawks defenseman, Alec Regula, in Edmonton and Bowman has rewarded him with a nice new contract.

GM Stan Bowman is in charge of the Edmonton Oilers talent acquisition. Under his leadership, they've managed to make it to the playoffs. A status quo expectation for the team.
But Bowman all the while is busy keeping the Bakersfield Condors flush with depth as he's signed a former Chicago Blackhawks defenseman, Alec Regula.
Regula was another Bowman draft pick, selected 67th overall in the 3rd-round of the 2018 NHL Draft.
He'd been a staple in the Providence Bruins lineup this season, playing 55 games and scoring 26 points (4 goals, 22 assists). This was the second year in Providence after he arrived from the Nick Foligno, and Taylor Hall trade in which Don Sweeney gleefully conducted the cap dump and accepted the depth talent for the Bruins.
The Blackhawks got a captain and a scoring winger out of the deal.
Now, Regula joins GM Stan Bowman, and the Edmonton Oilers organization which is always in the Stanley Cup playoffs discussion with Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid leading the way.
Regula was acquired on waivers in December by the Oilers and has been on the non-roster due to medical restrictions. He's continued to practice all this time with the team, though.
Regula will be able to continue his development in the AHL with the Condors, and was given a two-year extension by Bowman, at the tune of $775K minimum, despite never suiting up for the Oilers once.
He was due to be a pending RFA, and now all he'll have to worry about is being healthy enough to put on his best performance for a defense job in Edmonton in October.
The 6'4" 212lb right-shot defenseman has scored 77 points (16 goals, 61 assists) in 163 AHL games.
