Well, what comes with that is a lot of businesses wanting your name in their product. Players sign brand deals all the time, whether they're in it for free products, money, or just to grow their brand in general.
Connor Bedard is one of them. He has deals with Lulumelon, Sherwood, Hyundai, Gatorade, CIBC, and Upper Deck. Bedard uses a Sherwood stick.
Today, it was announced that Connor Bedard signed a deal with Fanatics, and was seen signing a stack of jerseys this morning. The deal will allow to sell game used pucks, sticks, jerseys, and photos.
It was announced that Fanatics would be the official jersey supplier for the NHL after Adidas broke apart. Fanatics took advantage of that and brought on one of the league's brightest stars.
Connor Bedard won the Calder Cup last year and had a phenomenal rookie season. Bedard had 22 goals and 39 assists, tallying up to 61 points in 68 games last year. At only 19 years old, Connor has accomplished so much on and off the ice.
In two years, Bedard's rookie contract will be up. He's expected to get a huge pay raise from the million dollars he's making per year right now.
Bedard is already starting the year off right as he had a goal in last night's 7-2 loss against the Wild. Jones ripped one on a one-timer but was saved by Gustavsson. The puck rattled around on the ice, bounced off the post, and then Bedard swooped in to put it home as time expired for a power play goal.
