The Chicago Blackhawks announced a signing as they have signed Colin Bilek to a standard player contract.
Bilek will play with the Indy Fuel in 2024-2025, after being acquired from the Manitoba Moose by the Rockford IceHogs during the 2022-2023 AHL season.
He would end up playing 18 games for the Fuel, scoring 11 points in 18 games, while contributing three points in four Kelly Cup Playoff games.
The Brighton, Michigan-born forward, would once again sign a contract with the IceHogs and play 51 games with the Indy Fuel. He would score 43 points and tallied 66 PIMs.
Bilek is known for his community service and was honored for it, by the ECHL, as he put in volunteer work visiting local hospitals, and schools and meeting with veterans before and after hockey games.
Prior to his pro-hockey career, he spent four years at the United States Military West Point Academy and will eventually return to serve in the US Army, once his pro-hockey career concludes.
At West Point the 5'11" forward served as West Point's Captain his final two-years with the team. Bilek led the team in scoring, with 93 points in 127 games.
