One of the top prospects in the Chicago Blackhawks organization has signed an entry-level contract and will make his NHL debut on Monday.

Fans of the Chicago Blackhawks will get a glimpse soon of a player expected to play a big role in their future.
Forward Ryan Greene, who was a 2nd round pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, has signed a 3-year entry-level contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $950,000 and is expected to make his NHL debut with Chicago on Monday.
Greene recently captained the Boston University Terriers to a 2nd place finish in the NCAA college hockey championship, losing to Western Michigan over the weekend in St. Louis.
He decided to forgoe his senior year and is making the leap to the NHL.
It's definitely pretty cool. As a young player, that's kind of the perfect situation is the fact they're building young and put a lot of trust into the younger player. That's something that's obviously really good to see. It's pretty cool to be drafted with some of those guys, being friends with a lot of them, seeing them get the chance to play in the NHL is just really cool.

Boston University head coach Jay Pandolfo said that not only does Greene look like a professional already, but that he's taken a major leap forward this year.
«He looks like a pro - his game overall, his details defensively. He can skate, coming through the neutral zone with speed, attacking with speed, better at protecting pucks. Just all the things that go into making you a good pro, he's really developed in all those areas in the last three years. He's taken a huge step this year. I like where his game's at. In practice sometimes, just the way he moves and the way he plays the game and has an understanding of the game, he looks like an NHL player.

Greene scored 38 points (13G, 25A) in 40 games with the Terriers this year.
