GM Kyle Davidson and the Chicago Blackhawks could immediately improve the lineup if they're able to make a trade for the Minnesota Wild's Marco Rossi.
According to a recent report from NHL Insider Marco D'Amico, the Blackhawks are in on one of the Minnesota Wild's best players.
It's expected that center
Marco Rossi could end up on the trade block for the Minnesota Wild, and he'll have plenty of suitors.
Although he's been considered "undersized", he's found a way to produce points in a way that makes him desirable to GMs across the league.
Kyle Davidson is one of the GMs on the hunt for his services, as he'll be competing with others for Rossi's talents.
Notably, a lot of the interested teams are in the retooling and rebuilding stages of the franchise.
The Philadelphia Flyers, Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Chicago Blackhawks are the teams interested, as Rossi will be on the trade block in July.
Rossi was the 9th overall pick in the 1st-round of the 2020 NHL Draft, and was considered one of the Minnesota Wild's best prospects, after
Kirill Kaprizov set the place on fire, with his skills.
Now, as a pending RFA with his $863K contract expiring, the Blackhawks could benefit from landing Rossi and slotting him in on the 2nd-line behind Bedard.
In 82 games this season, he scored 60 points (24 goals, 36 assists), and if the Blackhawks could land him, they could weaken the Wild.
In order for a team to keep a player's RFA status, they must provide a Qualifying Offer. If they do not provide a Qualifying Offer, the player becomes a UFA. Qualifying Offers must be provided to the player by the later of the Monday after the Entry Draft or June 25.
- Per PuckPedia
Rossi must receive a qualifying offer from the Wild by June 25th in order to retain his rights.
