Blackhawks decision at 3rd ovr down to 3 names

The Chicago Blackhawks have to have their game plan ready for the 2025 NHL Draft, which will take place on June 27th and 28th in Los Angeles' Peacock Theater.

Instead of traveling to the site, GM Kyle Davidson and the front office will do business at home, while the prospects will still get a chance to meet Gary Bettman and don the jersey of the team that selected them.

It's difficult to gauge who the Blackhawks could select at 3rd overall, as the top ten is chock-full of great talent in 2025.

According to The Athletic's Scott Wheeler, the team could end up selecting Michael Misa, Anton Frondell, or Caleb Desnoyers.

While Tankathon has their own Projected 2025 NHL Draft up on their site, they have the Blackhawks selecting Porter Martone going 3rd overall. It doesn't seem likely as he doesn't have the engine the team wants, compared to a player like Misa, or Frondell.

According to Wheeler, the Blackhawks have skaters that are speedy, and have skills that a player like James Hagens has. So we can safely cross him off the list.

He believes that Michael Misa could be Connor Bedard's linemate for the next decade and a half, and has the skating abilities, and could flex between center and winter whichever suits the teams needs.

If Misa is gone before the 3rd overall pick, it could come down to Anton Frondell or Caleb Desnoyers. Both a 6'1" center who plays a great game, and for now, Wheeler believes Frondell is a consensus third-overall pick.

We'll see how GM Kyle Davidson swings in June.
