Blackhawks Connor Bedard Attacked By Lightning in Wednesday's Matchup
The NHL is surely taking a look at the games footage as it contained dirty hits from both sides of the ice.
The Blackhawks took exception to that and the first one there to back Connor up was
Tyler Bertuzzi, ready to wrestle Eyssimont down to the ground.
No penalty was given to Tampa Bay after the fact.
An unnecessary hit by Michael Eyssimont on Connor Bedard after the whistle blew, and a scrum ensues. #Blackhawks
Taking things into consideration, Eyssimont only has 47 points in his whole career at 28 years old in 182 games. Bedard, 19 years old, is going to pass that in his sophomore season alone. Maybe that's why he felt the need to hit him.
To be fair, it's the second time these two teams are meeting in five days, so tempers flared over this game with possible held grudges and whatnot.
However, Connor Bedard scored a disgusting power play goal tonight as well, bringing his totals up to 14 goals and 30 assists, adding up to 44 points in 50 games.
Although that was just one hit, it did seem like the Lightning were targeting Bedard a little bit and taking more of a physical edge.
There was a play in the second period where Connor got cross-checked and that wasn't called, as well.
Bedard hasn't been getting too many calls all year long.
The referees were terrible and let the game get out of hand and they completely lost all control, and in result, the hit, the cross-check, and more happened.
