The Chicago Blackhawks' prospect pool was recently ranked number one by EP Rinkside for the year 2023.

It's a deep pool of highly skilled offensive and defensive talents, including some great goaltending prospects.

One of the prospects who recently made it to the number one spot, following Connor Bedard's rise to the NHL, is Frank Nazar, a forward from the University of Michigan.

Despite suffering from a rough patch due to hip surgery, Nazar has bounced back after missing most of the 2022-2023 season, only playing in 13 games with the University of Michigan. During that time, he managed to score 2 goals and make 5 assists, for a total of 7 points.

The Hawks' 13th overall pick from 2022 has enjoyed a sophomore year at Michigan as encouraging as his freshman year was discouraging.

He rediscovered his old self during the fall and has improved even further this winter, tallying 16 points in his last nine games to get to 33 points in 26 games overall. He'll likely sign and make his NHL debut after the college season ends.

Since then, he has found his old form and has played in 26 games during the 2023-2024 season.

EP Rinkside 2023 NHL Prospect Pool Rankings: No. 1-ranked Chicago Blackhawks. For a decade-plus, the Chicago Blackhawks stood as the symbol of prolonged success in the NHL. Their roster hosted future hall-of-famers and that group won the 2010, 2013, and 2015 Stanley Cups as a result.

He has scored 10 goals and made 23 assists, for a total of 33 points, showing a quick recovery after the hip surgery.

He will likely sign his entry-level contract with the Blackhawks at the end of the 2023-2024 season and join the organization in the next training camp.

It will be exciting to see what Frank Nazar can do in the NHL and what another skilled youngster can do to help the Blackhawks meet their own goals in the coming years.
