It's a deep pool of highly skilled offensive and defensive talents, including some great goaltending prospects.
One of the prospects who recently made it to the number one spot, following Connor Bedard's rise to the NHL, is Frank Nazar, a forward from the University of Michigan.
Frank Nazar moves up to No. 1 in my new Blackhawks prospect rankings, midseason update: https://t.co/XSzsbhHLD3 Ben Pope (@BenPopeCST) February 8, 2024
Despite suffering from a rough patch due to hip surgery, Nazar has bounced back after missing most of the 2022-2023 season, only playing in 13 games with the University of Michigan. During that time, he managed to score 2 goals and make 5 assists, for a total of 7 points.
Since then, he has found his old form and has played in 26 games during the 2023-2024 season.
He has scored 10 goals and made 23 assists, for a total of 33 points, showing a quick recovery after the hip surgery.
He will likely sign his entry-level contract with the Blackhawks at the end of the 2023-2024 season and join the organization in the next training camp.
It will be exciting to see what Frank Nazar can do in the NHL and what another skilled youngster can do to help the Blackhawks meet their own goals in the coming years.
