A new aquisition by the Blackhawks? The price to acquire Noah Dobson has been set

The Chicago Blackhawks could upgrade their defensive core by sending New York Islanders defenseman Noah Dobson an offer sheet.

Dobson, a pending RFA, has spent his entire career with the Islanders and was drafted 12th overall in 2018. He's a two-way defenseman with some serious offensive potential.

Before he was drafted in 2018, we saw him win a Memorial Cup in the QMJHL with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. He scored 52 points in 56 games in 2018-2019.

In 71 games this season, he's scored 39 points (10 goals, 29 assists), only a season after scoring 70 points.

He's not a stranger to high demand when it comes to responsibility on the ice. In 2023-2024, he played an ATOI of 24:31 and finished eighth in Norris Trophy voting.

Dobson has served on the team's 2nd pairing this season under Patrick Roy.

He could find a similar home in the Hawks system, bolstering Connor Murphy on the right, while the team decides Kevin Korchinski's fate.

Dobson would immediately have an impact on the Blackhawks game on the ice and be another piece in the puzzle missing to make them contenders, eventually.

According to James William of The Win Column, he projected that Noah Dobson could end up signing for $10 million for his next contract.

The cost to acquire Dobson might be expensive for Kyle Davidson and the Hawks, but they could make it work, given all the stock piling they've done in recent years.
