A major development in Kevin Korchinski being traded by the Chicago Blackhawks has been addressed

The Chicago Blackhawks may want to think twice about potentially trading former 1st round pick Kevin Korchinski after his recent accomplishments in the American Hockey League.
The Chicago Blackhawks selected forward Kevin Korchinski with the 7th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, and he got his first year under his belt in 2023-24 with 15 points (5G, 10A) in 76 games.
He played this year mostly in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs, scoring 27 points (3G, 24A) in 56 games.
Korchinski scored in Rockford's postseason opener, tying the game that eventually went the IceHogs' way in OT to take a 1-0 series lead over the Chicago Wolves; the winner of the series moves on to face the Milwaukee Admirals in the next round.
Per IceHogs interim head coach Mark Eaton, Korchinski did everything right to help his club and his deflection goal was a perfect example.
A goal is a goal, right? Get pucks to the net at playoff time, it's never a bad recipe. And then his overall game was fantastic, skated well, blocked a big shot in the third, used his skating well, transitioned pucks, everything that makes him a special player.
Via Vinnie Parise of The Hockey News, the Blackhawks should think twice about potentially parting ways with him.
Both he and the organization need to remember that he's just 20 years old. It is way too early to tell if he's one of the guys worth letting go of. His attitude and skills should be very attractive to the executives in charge.
Korchinski is under contract with the Blackhawks through 2026 with an AAV (average annual value) of $918,333.
