The Chicago Blackhawks have sent forward Lukas Reichel to the Rockford IceHogs, according to AHL transactions.
Reichel, 21, has been sidelined as a healthy scratch for the last two games due to a prolonged slump. This marks his fifth time sitting out this season.
Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson has hinted at the possibility of sending Reichel to Rockford to reignite his competitiveness and spark improvement.
Reichel's performance this season has fallen short of expectations, with only 10 points in 50 games compared to 15 points in 23 games last season.
With Anthony Beauvillier's potential return from injury, Reichel's assignment opens up a roster spot for the Blackhawks, providing an opportunity for roster adjustments.
