It's a yearly tradition for general manager Stan Bowman to make at least one trade during the offseason. This past summer it involved moving one of the team's first round picks to Buffalo. Bowman shipped 2017 first round pick, Henri Jokiharju, to Buffalo in exchange of Sabres' forward Alex Nylander. While it seems that Nylander is slowly coming into his own in Chicago after struggling to earn a roster spot in Buffalo, the Blackhawks defense hasn't exactly been mind blowing. Jokiharju has quietly put together a pretty solid season for the Sabres and says the reason why he couldn't find success last year in Chicago was for one simple reason, Jeremy Colliton. "It's a little bit how the coach sees you as a player and as a person," Jokiharju said. "I think that was one of the issues in here."The 20 year old currently has seven points in 20 games so far this year which includes two goals. Jokiharju's new head coach, Ralph Krueger, believes the defenseman was misunderstood by his former team. "Every country in Europe has a different personality," Krueger said. "You can't look at a European kid from Finland (the same) as you can an American boy or a Canadian. They all have different backgrounds and you need to consider that in the way they come across."Joki is the kind of person that is confident in an honest way. He wants to do what's good for the team and he also takes critiquing very well and is very coachable. He's been an excellent fit to our team."
