Unfortunate Injury Update On Top Blackhawks prospect

The Chicago Sun-Times' NHL Insider Ben Pope reported a status update regarding Philip Kurashev.

Kurashev has suffered a wrist injury, which has forced him out of the lineup for at least a week.

Kurashev is going to resume skating but his wrist injury will keep him out at least another week, Richardson said, so he might miss a few regular season games.

Although Kurashev will miss a week of play, he has been skating, which has continued in the meantime.

Sadly, this is his second injury this year, having suffered a shoulder injury in March. Thankfully, no surgery was necessary.

Kurashev is likely to play top-six for the Blackhawks once he becomes healthy. In 70 games with the Blackhawks last year, Kurashev had nine goals and 16 assists.

During the rebuild, a player like Kurashev is needed in the top-six, but once they are ready to contend, he may be a middle-six forward.

The presence of veteran forwards acquired in the off-season, such as Taylor Hall, Nick Foligno, and Corey Perry, should benefit Kurashev, hopefully leading to the team's long-term success.
