The Blackhawks Officially make a signing
BY SKY
However, Davidson is not concerned with where his players come from, as long as they play the way he wants the Blackhawks to play, which Rolston does. Blackhawks Assistant General Manager of Player Development Mark Eaton spoke highly of Rolston's speed, which is a crucial element for the team.
He compared him to other players who have been with the Blackhawks in recent years, such as Sam Lafferty and Andreas Athanasiou, who are known for their speed. Eaton believes that Ryder possesses the same speed and character qualities as Lafferty and Athanasiou, making him an ideal player for the Blackhawks to build with.
Rolston is thrilled to be a Blackhawk and it is a good sign:
Dream come true signing my first NHL contract with

Scott Powers of The Athletic provided Rolston's comparable, and Blackhawks fans will be able to understand his game a little more:
Lafferty is a pretty good comparable for Rolston. The Blackhawks are hopeful Rolston's offensive game comes around — he does have a pretty good shot — but they signed him thinking he could be a potential NHL player even if it doesn't. Rolston had decent college numbers, but nothing special. He had 10 goals and 17 assists in 38 games as a sophomore and seven goals and 13 assists in 27 games this season. Overall, Notre Dame wasn't much of an offensive team this season. Rolston was just three points below the team's points leader despite playing 10 fewer games. Rolston broke his collarbone and missed the end of the Irish's season.
