Patrick Kane's trade talks before the March 3rd trade deadline have been the focus of several rumours throughout the past month.

Many NHL analysts predicted that he will choose the New York Rangers as his upcoming team to play for. Since the Rangers acquired Vladimir Tarasenko from the St. Louis Blues, that impression has been thrown down the drain.

As a result, the situation has shifted, and Kane now has a lot of options when selecting his next team. Since Kane is trying to find a new team and play the most minutes possible, Elliott Friedman of the 32 thoughts believes that the Edmonton Oilers have considered the idea of signing Kane but have stated that he would not play on the power play 1, so Kane would not go there.

Given that he is one of the best wingers in the league, I would assume that the Oilers would think about placing him on the top power play.

Having said that, everything will depend on Patrick Kane and where he wants to go. The right winger, who is 34 years old and has a $10.5 million cap hit, is in his last season. To make a deal work, the Blackhawks would need to retain A LOT of his salary.
