The Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks played to their strengths in Game 5 of the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals on this date nine years ago. Chicago's speed ultimately prevailed against Boston's brutality, and the Blackhawks moved one win away from their second Stanley Cup in four seasons after a 3-1 win.

Patrick Kane scored the game's first two goals, giving him seven in the last seven games, and Chicago never looked back as Corey Crawford made 24 saves, only beat by a Zdeno Chara wrister early in the third period.

Both teams lost key offensive cogs as Jonathan Toews didn't play the third period leaving with an upper-body injury and Patrice Bergeron was hurt in the second period and was taken to the hospital for observation.

The Kane-Toews-Bryan Bickell line combined for five points and Dave Bolland's empty-netter sent the Madhouse on Madison into a frenzy.
