During this year's draft, the Blackhawks made a trade with the Boston Bruins that included Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno traded to Chicago and prospects Alec Regula and Ian Mitchell sent over to Boston.
Shortly after the trade, he signed a one-year, $4 million deal with the Hawks. This is what he had to say to the media today:
Nick knows he's been brought in for one thing, and that is to teach the young players and shape the future, and it's nice to know he's going to fulfil that role.
Foligno is 35 years old and is nearing the end of his career. Last season with Boston, he had 10 goals and 16 assists, tallying up to 26 points in 60 games.
