The Los Angeles Kings and the Seattle Kraken made history for the first time in twenty-eight years last night due to the amount of goals scored in their game, with a final score of 9-8 to give the Kraken the win.

Goaltending has been an issue for multiple organizations this year including the Los Angeles Kings and the Seattle Kraken..

For example; the Anaheim Ducks vs Nashville Predators game totalled 56 shots through the game, and three goals scored which is quite average.

The LA Kings and Kraken game? 65 shots were taken, and 17 were let in, which is the worst goaltending performance of the season from any team.

Jonathan Quick has been the Kings key success to their most recent Stanley Cup, but is his age catching up to him? The 36-year old goaltender has a 3.30 GAA (goals against average).

The Kings goaltender Cal Petersen was supposed to take the crease between the pipes last season and had high hopes but even his numbers are not too high.. with a 3.75 GAA and an .868 save percentage.

Petersen took the crease between pipes last night and failed miserably, letting in four goals on just fifteen shots taken, which lead to a odd LA Kings announcement this morning.

The LA Kings have announced that they have waived their goaltender Cal Petersen who is 28 years old, and who received a pricey $5 million dollar contract just less then a year ago... actually, Petersen has only played 10 games under his new contract, that's rough!

The Kings also decided to cancel their entire morning practice which many fans were looking forward to, and also canceled their media interviews.. what's going on?

Check out his stats below:

Will someone claim Petersen or will he go through waivers and play with the Ontario Reign, the Kings' AHL affiliate?
