NHL Head Coach Reveals Disturbing Info on His Organizations Medical Staff's Treatment of Players

BY SKY
The Philadelphia Flyers' medical staff has been under scrutiny for mistreating multiple injuries over the years. Players such as Sean Couturier, Ryan Ellis, and Cam Atkinson have all been affected. John Tortorella, who is aware of the situation, spoke out about the issue, calling it a "huge scab" on the organization. When Tortorella was hired on June 16th, 2022, he immediately began trying to figure out how to get the medical situation under control.

He acknowledged that the problem had been going on for years and that it had brought a lack of confidence for players. Although he did not criticize any specific person, he emphasized that it was a mess that needed to be fixed.

Tortorella believes that the medical staff has improved under Tommy and his team, who have done a good job of handling off-ice matters. However, he also noted that the team still has work to do to regain the players' trust. Chuck Fletcher and Barry also put a lot of time into trying to fix the problem.

Tortorella hopes that now, under Danny Briere's leadership, action will be taken to improve the medical staff's performance rather than just words being spoken. Rushing operations is not a joke, and it's sad to hear that players have been mistreated. The full interview is available on the Philadelphia Flyers' Twitter page.
